Laboratory
Twenty-four hour on-call coverage is provided for the hospital, emergency room, and nursing home, as well as for the clinic and outpatients by experienced medical technologists and technicians. Tests performed by the lab department are many and varied, including patient testing in chemistry, therapeutic drug monitoring, microbiology, hematology, urinalysis, transfusion services, and EKGs, plus a host of other miscellaneous tests. Lab personnel perform drug screens for the Department of Transportation (DOT) and pre-employment screens for area businesses. They also perform DOT evidential breath tests and are state certified to perform water testing for coliform bacteria.
