Sports Medicine
Our sports medicine team includes an orthopedic surgeon, athletic trainer, and physical and occupational therapists. We provide services for all types of athletic and recreational injuries. Patients are seen in weekly clinic visits with the orthopedic surgeon or in regular consults with physical therapy staff members as an outpatient.

Support Groups
Perham Memorial recognizes the necessity to assist and educate persons with special needs. We host several support groups including Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Alzheimers, Cardiac Rehab, Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes, Grief, Cancer, Family Council, and Resident Council.

Surgery
Major abdominal surgery, diagnostic endoscopic exams, cataract and other eyes surgeries, and same-day surgery are available at Perham Memorial Hospital. Keeping pace with technology, we recently completed construction and remodeling of the surgical suite. The post-anesthesia room provides an up-to-date environment for patients recovering from surgery. Surgery staff includes a general surgeon, anesthetist, and experienced surgical nursing personnel, who provide 24 hour on-call coverage.

Swing Bed
A hospital bed is available for some patients who no longer require acute care, but still require skilled care. These patients are placed in a "swing bed" temporarily until they are ready to go home or transfer to a nursing home setting. To qualify, patients must be receiving a daily skilled service and be admitted directly from a hospital setting. Medicare and some insurance plans reimburse fees for swing bed care.

Transitional Care
A private pay program, transitional care offers a hospital bed to individuals who need custodial care. This includes, but is not limited to, those awaiting nursing home care. Transitional care is not reimbursable by Medicare, Medicaid, or insurance.
