Capabilities of radiology include CT, ultrasound, computerized radiography, Bone DEXA, and digital mammography. Mobile MRI, echocardiography, and nuclear medicine are available by appointment.
Perham Memorial Hospital utilizes PACS technology. PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems) includes computers and networks dedicated to the storage, retrieval, distribution, and presentation of images. This provides the radiology department with instantaneous, digital radiography that can be accessed simultaneously by doctors in
different locations.
The PACS system makes it possible for the same professional medical advice about a particular x-ray to be given to patients in any hospital within the MeritCare system. A MeritCare Radiologist is on-site once a week to read images, perform fluoroscopic exams and provide therapeutic pain management injections.
