Perham Memorial Home hosts nurse leader workshop
Perham Memorial Home (PMH) was host to a four-day Nurse Leader Intensive workshop April 19-22. Co-sponsored by Action Pact, Inc. of
Recognizing that Perham Memorial Home is viewed as a pioneer in nursing home culture change throughout the country, Action Pact entrusted Perham’s local leadership for the event. The provided nursing leaders with the knowledge and tools to prepare them to work through the culture change process in the facilities where they are employed. Based on the best practices and lessons learned at PMH, Oelfke and Ammons shared PMH’s philosophy on how to implement the Household Model of Care that has been so successful locally. The workshop was attended by nursing leaders from coast-to-coast.
“We were very proud to be asked to host this event for nursing leaders around the country,” said Oelfke. “A true testament to our efforts to improve the quality of life for our residents occurred on the final day of the workshop, when an attendee, after learning about our model of care and seeing it in action; said she wished her own mother could live in the Perham facility”.
